FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM APPLICATION

The application deadline for Cohort #1 of the Fellowship Program is NOVEMBER 21.

In Dec. 2019, AMAZN HQ was founded with a simple mission – to serve as THE PLATFORM for Asians and Asian Americans in sports. Over the past four years, we’ve been able to build a passionate audience base of nearly 150,000 across social media platforms. We’ve hosted All-Star Showcases bringing together North America’s best athletes. We’ve partnered with America’s biggest sports leagues like the NFL and NBA. And most importantly, we’ve begun to rewrite the narrative of what it means to be an Asian athlete. 

Now, we want to help build the next generation of Asian & Asian American content creators, journalists, and marketers through our first-ever AMAZN HQ Fellowship Program.

FELLOWSHIP DETAILS

  • This is an unpaid, remote fellowship
  • Three month duration (can be extended)
  • Segments of the fellowship
    • Gain experience in sports and culturally-focused content creation and marketing
    • Mentorship workshops led by Asian American professionals in the sports and media industries
    • Possible opportunities to attend and report at high-level sporting events
  • Fellows will be expected to commit a minimum of FIVE hours per week across the three-month span
  • Fellows are ideally college students or young professionals

FELLOWSHIP POSITIONS

Social Media Fellow(s)

  • Learn how to create engaging content on AMAZN HQ’s social media platforms (IG, TT, SC, YT) that receive 7+ million monthly impressions
  • Learn the ins-n-outs of social content creation by AMAZN HQ founder Pranav Iyer, who has prior experience working for leading sports media outlets, including ESPN and Fox Sports
  • MUST have experience using and personal access to both Adobe Premiere and Photoshop

Editorial Fellow(s)

  • Learn about the synergies of journalism and digital marking to help create a weekly content newsletter
  • Learn to create aggregated and original content for AMAZNHQ.com
  • MUST have experience in journalism or copywriting

Brand Strategy Fellow(s)

  • Learn best outreach methods to connect with brands and initiate partnerships with AMAZN HQ for brands for media and event campaigns
  • Learn brand outreach strategies for content and events from AMAZN HQ CMO Joey Krassenstein, who has experience working for global sports brand powers, including Nike and the NFL
  • Learn to shape a brief, partnership proposal, and closing of contract

FELLOWSHIP REQUIREMENTS

  • MUST be able to commit a minimum of FIVE hours per week across the three-month span
  • MUST be able to show examples of prior experience in the application
